Wednesday Wobbly WheelersThe Wednesday Wobbly Wheelers meet regularly for a variety of full day cycle tours. We frequently take our bikes on trains to visit a wider range of countryside. On reaching the designated station, the usual format is to stop at a cafe for a cup of tea before heading off into the countryside. During the summer, the riders normally split into two groups (the 'A team' and the 'Z team') according on their capabilities and preferred riding style. Each group will find a suitable spot for a packed lunch and return to Belfast either by the same or a different station, as arranged. Billy McCormick and Victor Douglas plan these rides with military precision. Sometimes the cyclists travel on two trains to dodge Translink restrictions. Details of the meeting arrangements and destination of the next ride are available from Billy on (028) 9042 3740 or Victor on (028) 9086 2330. The rides usually start at Belfast Central Station but can be joined from any Translink station. Consult the timetables for details of connections. Occaisional 'specials' include Portadown to Antrim via Slieve Gallion () and a visit to the Boyne Valley. |
